Congratulations Constable Caitlin Cann!

January 9 2019

The 999 Academy is pleased to congratulate Caitlin Cann, a police officer with Devon & Cornwall Police, who has completed the two year Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP) and has been confirmed in the rank of Constable. Based in North Devon, Caitlin is a graduate of the 999 Academy, having joined our first course at Petroc College, Barnstaple in 2011.

Caitlin began her policing career straight after the 999 Academy by joining the Special Constabulary, whilst at the same time studying full time for a degree with Plymouth University. And if that was not enough work to do, Caitlin re-joined the 999 Academy as a Course Support Leader, helping to deliver our programme to other young people (you can see her driving the police car on the 2017 Scenario Day at RMB Chivenor!).

Caitlin said, “I really enjoy being a police officer, helping the community I grew up in. It has been hard work, and I am looking forward to dealing with new challenges that policing in the future will bring. The 999 Academy inspired me to do my best, and I hope to continue to help deliver the programme in years to come.”

Well done, Caitlin!
